How we write our guides
Tax rules affect your money and your filings, so every guide on this site is sourced, dated and checked by a named VAT consultant. This is how.
- Who writes and who checks
- Every guide names its author and its Reviewer. The author is on the Lekha team. The Reviewer is a practising VAT or tax consultant, named on the guide with their qualification, who checks every fact, the title, the summary and the page's structured data against the cited sources before it is published. A guide nobody has reviewed is never published.
- How we use AI
- We draft guides with the help of an AI assistant. The author then rewrites and edits the draft, and the Reviewer checks it line by line against the sources. AI never publishes anything, and no guide is published from a draft that only AI has read.
- Which sources count
- Only primary sources: Acts of Parliament such as the VAT and SD Act 2012, the Income Tax Act 2023 and the Companies Act 1994, the Finance Acts, the rules made under them, NBR SROs, general orders and explanations, and Bangladesh Bank circulars. Every guide lists the ones it relies on, with their numbers and dates. Blogs, forums and other software companies are never a source.
- Fiscal years and re-checking
- Each guide states the fiscal year it applies to and the date it was last checked. After each budget, and whenever NBR or Bangladesh Bank changes a rule a guide covers, we check the guide again, update it and record the change at the bottom of the page.
- Corrections
- If you find a mistake, email info@codefusionai.com. We check it with the Reviewer, correct the guide and record the correction in its change history.
- Our interest
- Lekha is accounting software we sell. A guide mentions Lekha once, in a short section at the end, and never changes what the rules say to suit the product. Lekha is not approved, certified or endorsed by NBR or Bangladesh Bank.
- Not tax advice
- Guides explain the rules in general. How they apply to your company depends on facts only you and your consultant know.
